Problem (in simple words): Public services — such as health centres, schools, and ration shops — are expected to meet certain standards. In practice, we often do not know what those standards are or whether they are being monitored. When services fall short, there is no clear way to hold the system accountable.
What we ask: We request the concerned Central/State authority to:
- Publish simple, citizen-friendly service standards for key public services (e.g. time for grievance redress, availability of staff, quality of facilities).
- Put in place regular monitoring and publish summary results (e.g. quarterly) so citizens can see how services are performing.
- Allow citizens to report non-compliance through a single, visible channel and acknowledge each report with a reference number.
We request that this request be considered and a response be provided within a reasonable time.
