We, the undersigned, draw your urgent attention to the stalled development of Amaravati—envisioned as a ₹6.67 lakh crore, world‑class, sustainable capital—and call upon you to:
- Complete All Pending Infrastructure Works
- Finish the flyovers, legislative assembly building, high court, government office complexes, drainage systems, and power network—within the 6‑month deadline set by the Andhra Pradesh High Court.
- Fulfill Promises to 24,000 Farmers
- Expedite fair compensation or restoration measures for the 28,000 acres of fertile land donated by farmers.
- Withdraw any pending legal cases filed against land contributors.
- Reconsider the Three‑Capital Plan
- Suspend the proposal for three separate capitals until Amaravati’s core infrastructure is fully functional.
- Conduct a transparent, participatory review with affected stakeholders—especially the farming communities.
- Ensure Accountability and Transparency
- Publish a detailed progress report, audited by an independent body, on Amaravati’s development status and funds utilization.
- Hold public consultations before any major policy shifts affecting the capital’s future.
Why This Matters
- Promise vs. Reality: In 2015, global institutions (World Bank, AIIB) and the Government of India backed Amaravati as a “people’s capital” with water taxis, solar‑powered grids, and nine specialized districts. Today, it lies half‑built under a blazing sun, lacking even basic utilities.
- Broken Trust: 24,000 farmers sacrificed fertile land in good faith. Their fields are now barren, their hopes shattered, and their livelihoods at risk.
- Legal Mandate: The Andhra Pradesh High Court ordered completion within six months; the Supreme Court is yet to deliver its verdict. Meanwhile, time—and public money—slips away.
We, the undersigned, therefore demand swift action to revive Amaravati, honor the sacrifice of its farmers, and safeguard the promise of a sustainable, inclusive capital for Andhra Pradesh.
